A look back

This week a look back over the last 4 years results against Saturdays opponents Musselburgh.
Back in season 04/05 Ladywell played Musselburgh four times. The first victory in the November that year gauranteed our place in the cup final. Already having beaten ECM, Leith, Portseaton and P's & G's (impressive scalps eh?) we wrapped up our cup final place with a 9-2 victory. Goals coming from Ranaldi, Mackin x2, Barry, Stephen R x2, Craig T x2 and an OG.
Our three? league games that season all resulted in victories also, a 4-2 victory with goals from Craig T, Ranaldi, Stephen R and Bissett (a game which saw Glen debut for Ladywell), and a 5-3 victory thanks to goals from Murphy x2, Ranaldi and Dobber x2. That games is better remembered for the debut of a certain Shaggy Abroath boy making his debut coming off the bench to turn the game around, and finally a 4-0 victory with goals from Bairdy x2, Dobber (who was later sent off) and Paul Robinson.
The bad season of 05/06 saw us only play Musselburgh once, when they recorded their most recent victory, and any sort of points, against us. Ladywell lost 3-1, the goal coming courtesy of Ranaldi, with Poods making his outfield debut that game. His masterful first goal was to come two games later that season.
Last season saw us play Musselburgh three times, with three victories. A 5-0 victory was brought about by goals by Mingy, Craig T x2and Ranaldi x2. The second league game, a bit tighter, a 2-0 victory with goals from Mingy and Paul R again. Our last victory of last season came against Musselburgh, a 3-0 victory in the cup. Sean Putting us 1-0 up early on things were looking tricky until Shaggy boy came on (by cheating) and scored a penalty and a wonderstrike, securing the victory.
The one game against the Burgh this season resulted in a 3-0 victory with goals from Grant, ranaldi and an OG.
This results in golas tallies of recent years: Ranaldi - 8, Craig T - 5, Dobber - 4, Ritchie - 3, Treger, Paul R, Mingy, Muz, OGs and Mackin - 2, Barry, Bissett, Bairdy, Sean and Grant - 1
So this has been a lucky fixture for us of late but lets not take anyhting for granted. Musselburgh recently reached the Cup final thanks to a 3-0 defeat of Portseaton.
And as Ranaldi, Craig T and Ritchie aren't available at the weekend going by the scoring charts against this mob I say Treger and Dobber up front on Saturday!
